Vinyl tile is now the hottest growing flooring catagory in the industry and for a good reason! They solve many consumer’s problems.
When my dad opened the business in 1972, the main vinyl flooring material was Armstrong Designer Solarian 6 foot wide inlaid sheet vinyl. It was very heavy and very hard to install, but it lasted forever! As the years went by, sheet vinyl and vinyl tile became less desirable, replaced by porcelain, laminate and hardwood floors.
Whenever I suggest vinyl, I get THE LOOK and the comment: Yuck! No, not vinyl! “My grandmother had vinyl!”
VINYL TILE MAKES A DYNAMIC COME BACK!
There is a reason vinyl tiles are the hottest growing flooring category in the industry! They solve many consumer’s problems and yet with new precision digital imagery, they provide the beauty of hardwood floors and stone. They offer several installation methods options: glued down, loose lay or locking systems. Vinyl is an ideal choice for all residential and commercial applications.
Which is the real wood?
What are the benefits of Vinyl Tile?
Durablity: Vinyl tile has protective wear layers from 6 mil to 30 mil. A wear layer is the top layer of clear vinyl protecting the design of your floor. The thicker the wear layer, the more protection your floor has. Today’s wear layers are more resistant to wear and tear and scratches then ever before.
Water safe: Vinyl is waterproof! When moisture is a threat, vinyl is a safe choice. If it is a glue down installation, just mop it up to dry. If it’s floating or loose lay tile, pick it up and set it aside. Reuse the tiles by relaying them after the floor is dry.
Style: Advanced engineering and custom designs make it possible to design any layout imaginable. Planks of any width, squares of any size, or random sizes placed together. The opportunities are endless with digital imagery vinyl tile and water jet precision cutting. Vinyl can now emulate wood, stone, linen, concrete, cork, metallics, and even water or grass. The embossed surface textures and realistic designs enhance the tile to look like nature’s own. You can also do custom fabricating hexagons, diamonds, tile with keys, planks, feature stripping and logos more.
Construction, prep and installation: Now vinyl tiles come in various new engineered rigid constructions such as Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) and Solid Polymer Core (SPC). Wood Plastic Composite is up to 3/8″ thick, and Solid Polymer Core is approximately 1/4″ thick. These products lock together and float over subfloors. Because of their rigid construction, they require less preparation to smooth out a slightly bumpy subfloor.
LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST ON LVT (Luxury Vinyl Tile)
Luxury Vinyl Tile (LVT) is tile made from a vinyl-based material. Vinyl tile is warmer than stone or concrete, and is quieter than laminate or wood. LVT used to be 1/16″ to 1/8″ thick individual squares, now the shapes, designs and thickness are endless. Traditional 1/8″ LVT is flexible with only one installation method, glued down. Traditional LVT must be glued down over a smooth subfloor, or the tile will conform to the imperfections or textures underneath. Skim coat smooths out those imperfections.
It is durable, comfortable, waterproof, quiet, warm, and easy to clean!
